The final few months of 2009 wasn’t good for my blog. Readership and Viewer-ship simply fell. The last week, nobody visited my blog. Yes zero visitors.

I would love to add the statistics graph to show you, but at the moment I am short of photo manipulating images (or I don’t know what to use on this computer I am using.)

And I came to know of all this because I installed WordPress Stats. Yeah, it wasn’t there by default, had to install it manually.

But because I installed it I came to know of several other fancy stuffs.

One was this blog’s birth. I had totally forgotten that, I started blogging in this domain in April 2009. I have been active in the blog-o-sphere for quite some time. I used to blog at Novice Investigator.

I visited my old blog’s dashboard. Startled to see, that blog got greater number of viewers than this current one.  Content indeed is king.

Another thing I noticed was the “Busiest Day”. 316 viewers and it was on my Birthday! Surprise Surprise!

I had viewership between 1000 and 1500 during July, August and September. The time when I was blogging actively. Should have stuck to it.

Enough of what has passed. It will soon be a new year. With the new year comes new resolutions!

My first resolution for 2010 is that I will manage my time well and use it productively. I have returned, with a determination, to blog.

I am facing it yet again. Yes, the same scenario that left my earlier blogs to die. I can’t let it happen again. I…. must…. blog….

I know what you might be thinking now. This article might not be worth reading, it might be just another, ‘bump’ post just to show others that the ‘blog ain’t dead’.

Of course, this blog isn’t dead. Neither is my desire to express myself through my blog.

Though I haven’t been blogging, yet I have been surfing and reading a lot. And humor being something which everyone likes I ran into several humor specific blogs, especially desi ones (I mean by Indian Authors and mainly about India and Indians).

There are many ways to review movies. There are many ways to spoof movies. This blog shows yet another way. There are lots of information on the internet. Reading articles sometimes becomes irritating. And long articles makes me close the tab. But in this blog, the post is long, but is entirely in a comic fashion, with crude stick images. A fun way to know about the movie, before deciding on spending some bucks on it. Totally Bollywood though.

Wow! A new post! You might be wondering, where I had vanished.

Well, the semester has come to an end, and I can put something into my blog. As said before, I promise, short simple posts.

Am now having trouble with updating my wordpress and plugin. Some error. Must sort that.

I have got a Google Wave invite and am on google wave now. Wait, most of my friends are not and without friends, am pretty confused of what to gain from Wave.

Windows 7 looks really spiced up.

So does Ubuntu 9.10. I installed it on my friends laptop and it blew me off! Wow! Amazing work there coders!

So am I not waiting for Linux Mint 8? I wanted to but I had some really bad experiences with Mint 7. It hung! Yes, something screws Gnome and then I need to hard reboot. Hate it!

And well Mint is for new comers. Am no new comer (I mean it!).

Now am going to install Ubuntu 9.10 on my laptop. Next time will be blogging from Karmic Koala. Watch out for reviews, tips and tricks on Ubuntu Karmic Koala!

This was an article I wrote during my higher secondary school examination. One of the few articles I have written, that makes me think about life and luxury.

Happiness is a personal affair. One man’s happiness could be another one’s distress. With technological advancement, the measure of happiness also changes. Today, it is all based upon the materialistic life. Earning more money and leading a luxurious life is seen as happiness.

In ancient times, it was not like this. Fulfilment of the basic and cardinal necessities like food, clothing and shelter was seen as happiness. When the basic needs are fulfilled, then the human emotions conquer. Then man tries to fulfil his emotions to attain happiness. Today, we find that man attains happiness when he finds that he is wealthier and more respectable than his neighbour. He thinks of earning more and buying more. Happiness today is measured in terms of mere money.

In ancient times, our ancestors enjoyed spiritual happiness and development. They studied the inner spirit and what shall provide eternal happiness. Today, it has been replaced by the study of the outer material world, and or how to achieve material goods and happiness. The human spirit has been forgotten. This shift had many consequences. Technological advancement was just a part. There was also the trouble of environmental degradation and pollution.

The question, still remains an unanswered mystery. We can say that we are happier than our ancestors in terms of the luxury we achieved, the speed and health we have attained, and the fun we enjoy. This level of materialistic development was absent in the old age. But there is something which we have lost and have forgotten to nurture. The magic and the power of the human spirit has been forgotten. Thus we have lost the spiritual happiness, which is more powerful than materialistic happiness that our ancestors enjoyed.

There is indeed a solution to our carelessness. If we concentrate now on the inner spiritual mind, rather than the outer world by providing high adventure breaks periodically and thus break the monotony of our lives, we can regain the true human spirit. Our basic and anarchic instincts have not been lost completely.

Some day we might be happier than our ancestors.

Have you heard about “Writer’s Block”? If you own a blog or like to write articles, then you might have even experienced it. As the name suggests, it is the inability to use your creativity to write. Everyone trying to write something creative is once in a while affected by it. 

You get struck by an idea, and plan to convert into a blog post. When you begin, you are so very sure that the post will top your popular posts chart. You are confident that your readers will love it. But, after writing a paragraph or two, you are in a high and are at a lose of words. 

You know the article is incomplete and stopping it there will definitely won’t sound nice. You found that the founding idea which intrigued you, has left you, and you aren’t able to build upon that idea and complete it. Dejected you push the incomplete mansion into the draft. And there it lays forgotten.

The human mind generates about 50 thousands thoughts per day. Some thoughts are like passing clouds. You might be enlightened by them but later on you forget what that thought was. Though you might have thought that it could have made a great blog post for your readers to read and think about.

Do you strike a chord with whatever I just said? If you own a blog or write articles, then I am pretty sure, you would have.

This happens. These small things are what makes us real humans. But you don’t like them to happen. So what can you do?

Solving the “I don’t have anything to blog about” problem

Thoughts flow pretty fast. It is practically not possible to remember each and every thought that has passed you. However, some thoughts remain with you, mostly those involving your personal life. Many others regarding the articles you read, the news you see and the people you meet. The practice of taking notes might look stupid to some who have great faith in their memory. But since we are real humans and not the ideal ones, we can never know when our memory will fail, to retrieve that one piece of thought. 

Write with an aim in your mind

Yes, write down those thoughts that amuse you. Later you will find them useful to write great articles and inspires and amuses people visiting your blog! Also before starting to write a blog post, make sure the article has an aim and a goal. Make sure the article gives the readers something to learn or think about.

Say for example, through this article, I am telling you to plan before you start writing. Ensure that you know what the article will tell on the whole. How you want to start, what you wish to tell and how you shall complete it. This can prevent the “Writer’s Block” I mentioned before, and you can complete your article in the way you wanted.

Ask your readers what they want to read!

You write for your readers. Well then, learn about what they want to read from themselves! Discover new topics to write about from your readers and Skribit!
