This post is exclusively for those in NIT Trichy’s B.Tech/Arch programme. The inductions for all clubs in NIT Trichy takes place in your second year. There are all kind of clubs you can think of. From language based clubs to technical clubs every thing exists.

I am a member of Delta, NIT-T’s Web Team. And that’s the only club I am a member of. I shall talk about the technical clubs on my college in this post.

There are two important computer clubs. Both cater to the LAN services in the campus. The clubs are Delta and Spider. Delta is responsible for taking care of the official college website. It also provides several services like ebooks, music and blogs on LAN.

Spider provides similar services. They experiment on a wider range of topics. Delta restricts itself mainly to  web technology. Spider has projects including SMS server, robotics etc. Inductions occur in the second year.

GLUG-T is the Linux Users Group of the College. They mainly conduct workshops in using Linux and other Open Source Softwares. They don’t conduct any official inductions. People enthusiastic in Linux are kind of automatically in the club.

RMI is the robotics club. They conduct robotics workshops for the first years and an induction in the second year. They officially represent the college in robotics related competitions elsewhere.

Sun Club is all about the Sun community and to make Sun softwares like Java popular among in the college.

Well, that is a brief info about the most important of the technical clubs. Did I miss any? Think I didn’t.
