What did you think Hacking was?

Some of the websites and blogs that I follow are Hack a Day, The Hackers Library, Genius Hackers, Hack This Site. The header blares out the words, ‘H-A-C-K’, and my mother goes like, “oh-god-my-boy-might-become-a-cyber-criminal”. Soon my mother comes closer and starts telling me why I also go into this and that this is this and that is that. I hoped to somehow explain to my mom and many other people who think “Hack” is bad, “Hackers” are evil.

Many a thanks to the evil media, that propagated these wrong thoughts and destroyed the meaning and reputation of Hackers and the Culture.

I have tried to explain the differences and the meanings of hackers, crackers and all other sort of things. So I am not attempting to do that again. This post is about the video I came across, thanks to Hack a Day, that shows some hackers at work.

It shows a hacker community at work, or I should say having fun in their own sort of way. You might be surprised to know that the term “Hackers” isn’t just related to computers.

    It looks more like a phishing page to me.

    HackThisSite.org is a very good place to learn web technologies and about exploits and how to avoid them. Trustable. If you still think it is a phishing site, then register as a bogus user and use it.
