Web 2.0 has been exciting. And even with the news of Web 3.0 coming, there are several services being offered for free, that makes it easier to express your thoughts about the books you read, the movies you watch, the music you enjoy, the websites you visit, the articles you read online and share and recommend it to your friends everything with a few clicks of your button.

This post is about Microblogging, Tumbleblogging and Microreviewing and which services helps me do it easily and for free and how I do it.

MicroBloggingTwitter Rules

This is provided by services like Twitter. Use Firefox with a firefox addon like TwitterFox to easily keep in touch with your tweets and your followers tweets. By following tweeters like BreakingNews you can keep in touch with latest news and also other top notch people like labnol to get to know about happening online. But don’t post what you do every minute. Do know what to tweet and what not to tweet!

And twitter is more! Share the link to the article you are reading. Liked a video on Youtube? Share it on twitter. It’s not bookmarking mind you. It’s sharing with your friends what you liked!

And tweets can be 140 words or less. It’s micro blogging, keep them short!

I use Twitter to tell other’s what I am doing. I even use it to ask a common question or a general poll targeting my friends and followers.

Tumblelogging

It’s a different style of blogging. In microblogging you can share links and also easily post mini updates about yourself. But with Tumble Logging services like Tumblr you can share anything from links to videos. For easy sharing on Tumblr, use the “Share on Tumblr” button in Firefox. You also have an option to post your Tumblogs (like tweets in twitter) to Twitter too. So when you share links, videos, quotes on Tumblr, you can be sure that your Twitter followers also come to know about it.

You can even share “Chat Interviews” thanks to Tumblr!

I don’t use Tumblr as a Bookmarking site. Whenever I find something interesting and reading it, I feel like sharing it with my friends. I post it to Tumblr and it posts it on Twitter.

MicroReviewing

Reviews

Before going for a movie or show, you ask your friends who had seen it to review it. Then depending on their reviews, you decide upon spending on it or not. Yes, reviews matter. Before downloading and installing a firefox plugin, you go through the user reviews to find out how many are satisfied and how many aren’t. Before deciding to buy a automobile, you visit popular automobile forums and read the users or ask the members for reviews on the models of your choice.

Yes, reviews matter. Even yours matters. Making it easy to share reviews with the online community about things you watch and use, comes MicroReviewing services. I use Blippr. Frankly I do not know about any other micro reviewing service. So watched a new movie? Read a new book? What did you feel? Tell the world about it through your reviews! Note that reviews should be 160 words or less. It emulates Twitter in this.

You can have Blippr post your reviews to Twitter!

I use Blippr to find recommendations to movies and books. I find which movie was liked most by people, and read reviews by them. It’s a really cool way to know about what’s new and what’s hot!

So Twitter, Tumblr and Blippr are three important and useful services to inform, share and socialise with ease. Sign Up now if you haven’t and start using them to their best!
