Blog about your campus!: Posts that can bring you traffic

I have introduced so many of my friends to blogging, but very few have made it a habit to blog. Some might not be interested, but it’s saddening to see those with the potential of making great posts not blogging. Also there are some friends new to the blogosphere asking me to help them with setting up a blog and kick starting it.

So here I am with a post about the type of blog post that can bring a good traffic. But remember that this can better be a page rather than a post. Because, you might have to frequently (ok probably once in year). And you can later add posts complementing the page.

Check out the NIT, Trichy page in my blog. I am a junior student (Third Year from July 2009) at National Institute of Technology, Trichy. I remember to have searched about “NIT Trichy” in Google after my All India Entrance Examination (AIEEE), and I don’t remember to have obtained ‘good’ results with information I wanted to know. So the next thing I did was to write a page in my old blog Novice Investigator.

Though I did not find much traffic from the page in the beginning, but the next year, the numbers started rising. And most of the traffic came from search engines! Now I have updated the content and published it in the new blog. Traffic hasn’t started flowing in yet. Expecting it by the time the results for the AIEEE exam is released and the admissions begin.

Blog about your campus and events taking place there. You might think there won’t be takers for those posts, but the truth will be clear once you see the numbers rising! And don’t forget to complement the page with posts about more details about incidents and news about events occuring in your campus!
